  11. ;full, what and how do you determine the PL length? This is

  13. :ANSWER:      You pressed OA-P, right? and chose "design a 
  14. label report"?
  15. QUESTION:     Yes.
  16. <ANSWER:      Your whole database (categories) should appear ;
  17. 9on the screen...From this screen, you can design how you <
  18. :want your printout to look...in cooperation with OA-O. If <
  19. :you check the space above the report format, you will see ?
  20. =instructions for designing the report. Putting the cursor on ?
  21. =the first letter of any category...OA-D deletes it from that     
  22. report.
  23. <QUESTION:     Okay, I have a 30 field DB...and want two (or -
  24. 3) of these to print on ONE sheet of paper.

  27. =want.. this will not delete them permanently...just for this 
  28. printout.

  31. print..but you want several records on each page.

  33. IANSWER:      OK...  start with the knowledge that 66 lines = a page. You H
  34. Fcan fit 2 records per page with 33 line pages...or 3 records per page K
  35. Iwith 22 line pages...  etc. I'd suggest the latter. After you set up the K
  36. Iway you want it to look, hit OA-O.  There is no "exact" 1/3 page, so you F
  37. Dmust get the closest setting..I think it will be something like 3.7 I
  38. Ginches PL = 3.7. However, there is an easy way to check.... underneath J
  39. Hthat setting, AppleWorks estimates lines per page...see if you can fool H
  40. Fwith it until this number is 22. This should work, with one caveat... L
  41. JFrom the main menu, choose other options. Chose printer... option 7... on I
  42. Gthe printer you are using, be sure to set the option that says "Top of K
  43. Iform" to NO!!  AppleWorks is asking if your printer knows what a "Top of J
  44. HForm" command is.. you must tell it "NO", otherwise, only one form will 
  45. appear on each page.
  46. ISTATEMENT:    Oli, she should also make sure that the 22nd line is blank M
  47. Kso that the forms don't run together. Also, she should also make sure that I
  48. Gthe line is printed even if blank..... except the 22nd line will never L
  49. Jhave anything on it... because you can only design label reports up to 15 8
  50. lines long... Print all lines even if blank...  right.

  58. JQUESTION:    What's the word on Appleworks GS and Bob Lissner's update to 
  59. JANSWER:      OK, to the best of my knowledge, 2.1 does exist.. AppleWorks )
  60. GS is for real, but late fall delivery.
  61. QUESTION:    What will 2.1 have?
  62. DANSWER:      2.1 has NO additional features.. Bug fixes, mainly...  @
  63. recalculating only changed cells in SS (if you call that a new
  64. feature)
  65. QUESTION:     So how much will they 'get' us for the 2.1 upgrade?
  66. GANSWER:      upgrade...no, terminology is everything..."upgrade is not M
  67. Kbeing used..some other term, implying no new features is being used... and M
  68. Kthe "update" (I think that's it) is free. They want to build a database of @
  69. >AppleWorks users...Unfortunately, Apple threw away all of the 6
  70. registrations of the first several years of sales...
